Expedition papers [manuscript]. 1826-1830.

Papers of the pioneer surveying expedition of the "Adventure" and "Beagle" 1826-1830. Included are the journals of Captain Phillip Parker King, the expedition's commander in the "Adventure", of Captain John Stokes and Captain Robert Fitzroy in the "Beagle". Fitzroy took command of the "Beagle" after Captain Stokes' suicide in 1828. The five volumes contain, as well as these two journals, meteorological journals, reports, letters and other papers. Much of this material was not included in the published journals.
